The Dingo K9 Digger was developed for those situations where a normal backhoe or mini excavator would not fit, with the added benefit of possessing more power than its competitors. This is because of the 3000 / 3400psi hydraulic pressure. The breakout force of the Dingo K9 Digger is approximately 1000 kg per Newton metre which means the Dingo Backhoe is equivalent to machines double its weight. The Dingo K9 Digger can get into tight positions; it’s only 1 metre wide and can dig to a depth of 1.8 metres. The Dingo K9 Digger is the only mini skid steer digger attachment with the ROPS safety feature. Please visit www.dingo.com.au for more information.

Three of the most popular pieces of equipment are a backhoe loader, a mini excavator, and a slip steer loader. There are a lot of people who either purchase a backhoe or a mini excavator and slip steer combo and there's a lot of debate …

Mini Excavator Facts and Fun | Motionopia – Moving About

*Tow Behind ability : you will see more mini excavators and slip steers behind a dump van now than the traditional backhoe loader. the dimensions of the mini excavator has made it much easier to tow and transport through huge congested …

Here are some photos from our Scandinavian friends showing a novel way of moving mini diggers around site. In this first shot from Oskar Johansson we see what is often described as the Rolls Royce of backhoe loaders a Swedish…

JCB is a very large family business founded in 1945 by J. C. Bamford. The JCB name has become synonymous with engineering vehicles such as excavators and tractors, all of which are instantly recognisable from their black and yellow colour scheme.

Statistics

As a manufacturer on a global scale JCB employs over 8,000 people, has 17 factories, operations in 150 countries and has bases worldwide; enabling them to distribute over 300 products. JCB have 650 dealers worldwide and are widely recognised as market leaders in the industry.

JCB Products

The full range of JCB’s products spans such a wide area of engineering machinery that they cannot all be easily listed here. The more commonly used and better known machines however can be, as seen below.

Backhoe Loader

Since its invention by Joseph Bamford in 1953 the Backhoe Loader has been a highly successful and popular tool for a vast number of engineering tasks. Whilst being comprised of essentially a tractor with a front-mounted loading bucket and a rear mounted backhoe, the Backhoe Loader is never referred to as a tractor. By utilising both its digger bucket and backhoe, a loader is able to aid in a great many jobs including construction, excavating, landscaping and road paving.

JCB has a wide selection of backhoe loaders in their ‘CX’ range, varying in size and capability.

Backhoes

A backhoe (a.k.a. rear actor or back actor) consists of a (nowadays hydraulically powered) articulated arm with an excavating bucket attached at the end. The digging bucket is typically smaller than front-mounted loading buckets, but due to the maneuverability provided by the arm it is much more versatile.

Excavators

Whilst Backhoe Loaders are ideal for use in small projects and confined spaces such as urban engineering projects, larger tasks require the presence of an excavator. An excavator consists of a pivoting cab mounted on a tracked undercarriage. Extending from the cab is an articulated arm akin to a backhoe, albeit in a larger size.

Mini-Diggers

Given the size and weight of some excavators, they are not very well suited to smaller scale tasks as backhoe loaders are. To remedy this mini-diggers have been introduced. At just 2 to 6 tonnes in weight and generally capable of rotating around a full 360 degrees on their tracked undercarriage these machines are ideally suited for projects in confined spaces such as digging trenches, ponds, and general landscaping where high mobility is required. Other advantages for using mini-diggers include lower rental and running costs, simpler controls and easier to change attachments and accessories.

Attachments

A large number of JCB’s products are capable of using interchangeable and replacement parts and as such in recent years many attachments have become available. This allows vehicles such as excavators to extend their capabilities away from just one task, becoming more versatile and economic. Attachment parts include breakers, grapples, hammers, compactors, drills, forks and even mowers.

JCB Parts

With such an amount of attachments and interchangeable parts, and despite JCB’s excellent reputation for high quality products and hard wearing components, it is inevitable that over time there may be a need for JCB replacement parts and spares. Fortunately the nature of these parts means that they are readily available and relatively easy to swap out.

For a wide selection of JCB Parts, Shropshire based company Digger Parts are located near all the major motorway networks, allowing them to distribute the highest quality JCB replacement parts worldwide.

Backhoe loaders are certainly one of the more common equipment nowadays, and they can be utilized for numerous tasks especially in areas of construction, building, digging, excavating, asphalt breaking and even road paving.

An operator can likewise replace the bucket of the backhoe with other important attachment tools and gadgets such as breaker, which can be used for smashing and breaking rocks, concrete and other hard materials. There are buckets that provide a bottom that retracts, hence allowing for quick and efficient emptying of materials.

These retractable bottom buckets are utilized for scratching and grading off sand. The front assembly of the loader can likewise be removed if necessary, or you can make it a permanent attachment.

To effectively mount the various attachments to the backhoe loader, the equipment should have a tool coupler, which consists of hydraulic cylinders on the arm assembly end.

You can find many great brands of backhoe loader in the market today, such as Case, John Deere and New Holland. Some of these brands and models offer cabs and other attachments. The latest models of backhoe loaders provide luxurious accessories and features such as air conditioning and radios.

While known best as a excavating machinery, the backhoe loader actually serves a great number of purposes. It hauls supplies and equipment in the bucket. It covers dirt when needed to fill trench lines. It also covers the pipes placed in the ground. The attachment at the backhoe rear is certainly useful when digging sewer and water pipes.
